Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival : Every year in Custer State park, SD, over 1500 buffalo are rounded up into corrals. This spectacular event is preceded by two days of festivities including performances of music and dancing, arts and crafts from dozens of local artists, and a huge chili cookoff. I was fortunate enough to make it back up to South Dakota just in time for this year's event.

Dallas Arboretum : There's probably no single object in the world more photographed than a flower, so flower photographs may be a dime a dozen, but I know I still love them, so hopefully you do too. These were all taken in the Arboretum in Dallas, TX. Just the wonderful smell of thousands of flowers in full bloom made it a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully laid out. Unfortunately, I didn't really take any landscape pictures (or any that I was happy with anyway). I'm just not a very early riser, so the sun was quite high in a cloudless sky. . .any landscape photographer's nightmare. But beauty often lies as much in the details as the whole. . .

La Costa Latina Festival : Sometimes you just get lucky. I was driving home from meeting with a friend, and while I was stuck in traffic, I heard the music. Well, I wasn't getting any closer to home anyway, so I decided to head in the music's direction. You never know what might be going on in Ft. Walton Beach, Fl, so I've learned to take my camera with me as often as I can. And fortunate for me, I was able to catch some excellent dancing performances and good times all around.

Ft Walton Beach Volleyball : The weather was great for the 2009 Emerald Coast Volleyball Week at Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. Prior to the tournament, there was open play, where you could get a sneak preview of what was yet to come. These shots are a sample of players during both the open play as well as during the tournament.

Aquatic Life : Other than photography (and the martial arts), this is my other passion. The ocean has always drawn me with its mystery and abundance of life. Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to capture the beauty of these creatures in their natural environment, so I did the next best thing. I brought a little bit of the ocean into my house in the form of a reef aquarium.
